Saul sendiri berada di tengah pertempuran yang semakin hebat itu. Para pemanah Filistin melihat dia, lalu dia luka parah karena terkena anak panah mereka.

And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers.
