தாவீது மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டான்; எல்லா மக்களும் தங்கள் மகன்கள், மகள்களினிமித்தம் மனவருத்தமானதால், அவனைக் கல்லெறியவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்; தாவீது தன்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குள்ளே தன்னைத் திடப்படுத்திக்கொண்டான்.

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
