Men David [var trött på att ständigt behöva fly från Saul och] sa i sitt hjärta (tänkte för sig själv): ”En dag kommer jag bli bortsvept (undanröjd) av Sauls hand. Det finns inget bättre för mig än att jag flyr till filistéernas land. Då måste Saul ge upp (tröttna på) att leta efter mig överallt inom Israels gränser och jag undkommer hans hand.”

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
