อาบีชัยพูดกับดาวิดว่า “ในวันนี้พระเจ้าทรงมอบศัตรูของท่านไว้ในมือของท่านแล้ว ฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอให้ข้าพเจ้าแทงเขาด้วยหอกให้ติดดิน ครั้งเดียวก็พอ และข้าพเจ้าไม่ต้องแทงเขาครั้งที่สอง”
