ปุโรหิตนั้นจึงกล่าวว่า “ดาบของโกลิอัทคนฟีลิสเตีย ซึ่งท่านฆ่าเสียที่หุบเขาเอลาห์นั้น ดูเถิด ยังห่อผ้าอยู่ที่ข้างหลังเอโฟด ถ้าท่านต้องการดาบนั้นจงเอาไปเถิด นอกจากเล่มนั้นแล้วก็ไม่มีดาบอื่นอีก” และดาวิดกล่าวว่า “ไม่มีดาบอื่นเหมือนดาบเล่มนั้นแล้ว ขอให้ข้าพเจ้าเถิด”
