เหตุการณ์ก็เป็นอยู่ดังนี้ปีแล้วปีเล่า เมื่อนางขึ้นไปยังพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์คราวใด ปรปักษ์ของนางก็เคยยั่วเย้านาง เพราะฉะนั้นนางฮันนาห์จึงร้องไห้ไม่รับประทานอาหาร
