Umaalis ang taong ito mula sa kanyang siyudad taon-taon upang sumamba at mag-alay kay Yahweh ng mga hukbo sa Shilo. Naroon ang dalawang anak na lalaki ni Eli, sina Hofni at Pinehas, na mga pari kay Yahweh.

And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.
