ഒരു ആണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഹന്നാ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; ഞാൻ അവനെ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുവാങ്ങി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ശമൂവേൽ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
