એલ્કાનાએ તેને કહ્યું, “તને જે સારું લાગે તે કર.” તું તેને દૂધ છોડાવે ત્યાં સુધી રાહ જો; એટલું જ કે ઈશ્વર પોતાનું વચન પરિપૂર્ણ કરો.” માટે તે સ્ત્રી ત્યાં રહી અને પોતાના દીકરાનું દૂધ છોડાવ્યું ત્યાં સુધી તેનું પોષણ કર્યું.

And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.
