ดังนั้นแล้วดาวิดจึงวิ่งไปยืนอยู่เหนือคนฟีลิสเตียคนนั้น หยิบดาบของเขาชักออกจากฝักฆ่าเขาเสียและตัดศีรษะของเขาออกเสียด้วยดาบเล่มนั้น เมื่อคนฟีลิสเตียเห็นว่ายอดทหารของเขาตายเสียแล้วก็พากันหนีไป
