ఆ ఫిలిష్తీయుడు ఇంకా ఇలా అన్నాడు. “ఈ రోజున నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సైన్న్యాన్ని సవాలు చేస్తున్నాను. మీ నుండి ఒకరిని పంపితే వాడూ నేనూ పోరాడతాం” అంటూ రంకెలు వేశాడు.
