แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับซามูเอลว่า “อย่ามองดูที่รูปร่างหน้าตาหรือที่ความสูงแห่งร่างกายของเขา ด้วยเราไม่ยอมรับเขา เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทอดพระเนตรไม่เหมือนกับที่มนุษย์ดู ด้วยว่ามนุษย์ดูที่รูปร่างภายนอก แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ทอดพระเนตรจิตใจ”
