Lalu Samuel mengambil tanduk berisi minyak zaitun dan mengurapi Daud di depan saudara-saudaranya. Mulai saat itu juga dan seterusnya Roh TUHAN menyertai Daud dengan penuh kuasa. Kemudian Samuel kembali ke Rama.
