ซาอูลตอบว่า “เขาทั้งหลายได้นำมาจากคนอามาเลข เพราะพวกพลได้ไว้ชีวิตแกะและวัวที่ดีที่สุด เพื่อเป็นเครื่องสัตวบูชาแด่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่าน นอกจากนั้นเราทั้งหลายก็ได้ทำลายเสียสิ้น”
