సౌలు “నేను పాపం చేశాను. అయినప్పటికీ నా ప్రజల పెద్దల ముందు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ముందు నన్ను గౌరవించు. యెహోవాకు మొక్కడానికి నేను వెళ్తుండగా నాతో కూడ కలసి రమ్మని” అతని బతిమాలినప్పుడు

Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God.
