શમુએલે પોતાના મરણના દિવસ સુધી શાઉલને ફરીથી જોયો નહિ, તો પણ શમુએલ શાઉલને માટે શોક કરતો હતો. અને શાઉલને ઇઝરાયલ ઉપર રાજા ઠરાવ્યાને લીધે ઈશ્વરને અનુતાપ થયો.
