​แต่​โยนาธานไม่​ได้​ยินคำปฏิญาณของพระราชบิดาที่ทรงให้ประชาชนปฏิ​ญาณ​ จึงเอาปลายไม้​ที่​ถืออยู่​แหย่​​ที่​​รังผึ้ง​ ​แล้วก็​เอามือของท่านใส่​ปาก​ ​ตาก​็​แจ​่มใสขึ้น
