அதற்குப்பின்பு சவுல்: நாம் இந்த இரவிலே பெலிஸ்தர்களைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், காலை வெளிச்சமாகும் வரை அவர்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, அவர்களில் ஒருவரையும் மீதியாக வைக்காதிருப்போமாக என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு நலமானபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும் என்றார்கள். ஆசாரியனோ: நாம் இங்கே தேவனிடத்தில் சேர்வோம் என்றான்.

¶ And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.
