ശൗലിന്റെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടു കഠിനയുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ശൗൽ യാതൊരു വീരനെയോ ശൂരനെയോ കണ്ടാൽ അവനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചേർത്തുകൊള്ളും.
