શાઉલના આયુષ્યભર પલિસ્તીઓ સાથે સખત યુદ્ધ ચાલ્યા કર્યું. જયારે પરાક્રમી કે કોઈ બહાદુર માણસ શાઉલના જોવામાં આવતો, ત્યારે તે તેને પોતાની પાસે રાખી લેતો હતો.
