ฝ่ายนาหาชคนอัมโมนได้ยกขึ้นไปตั้งค่ายสู้เมืองยาเบชกิเลอาด บรรดาชาวเมืองยาเบชจึงพู​ดก​ับนาหาชว่า “ขอทำพันธสัญญากับพวกข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายและข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะยอมปรนนิบั​ติ​​ท่าน​”
