Lalu Samuel menyuruh perwakilan dari setiap keluarga suku Benyamin maju ke depan, dan terpilihlah keluarga Matri. Maka Samuel menyuruh keluarga Matri maju ke depan, dan Saul anak Kis yang terpilih. Tetapi ketika mereka mencari Saul, dia tidak ada.
