Dalam janji-Nya itu, TUHAN berkata, ‘Sejak Aku membawa umat-Ku Israel keluar dari Mesir sampai mereka sudah menetap di negeri Kanaan, Aku tidak pernah memilih satu pun kota di daerah suku-suku Israel untuk mendirikan rumah sebagai tempat menyembah Aku. Akan tetapi, Aku memilih Daud untuk memimpin umat-Ku Israel.’

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
