അവൻ നഫ്താലിഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു വിധവയുടെ മകൻ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അപ്പനോ സോര്യനായ ഒരു മൂശാരിയത്രേ: അവൻ താമ്രംകൊണ്ടു സകലവിധ പണിയും ചെയ്‌വാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ജ്ഞാനവും ബുദ്ധിയും സാമർത്ഥ്യവും ഉള്ളവനായിരുന്നു. അവൻ ശലോമോൻരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു, അവൻ കല്പിച്ച പണി ഒക്കെയും തീർത്തു.
