યોઆબને એ સમાચાર મળ્યા, કેમ કે યોઆબે અદોનિયાનાનો પક્ષ લીધો, પણ તેણે આબ્શાલોમનો પક્ષ લીધો ન હતો. તેથી યોઆબે યહોવાહના મંડપમાં નાસી જઈને વેદીના શિંગ પકડ્યાં.
