అప్పుడు అహాబు కొడుకు అహజ్యా “నా సేవకులను నీ సేవకులతో పాటు ఓడల మీద వెళ్ళనివ్వండి” అని యెహోషాపాతును అడిగాడు. యెహోషాపాతు దానికి ఒప్పుకోలేదు.
