కాబట్టి అహాబు అ వార్తాహరులతో “మీరు రాజైన నా యజమానితో ఇలాచెప్పండి. ‘నీవు మొదట నీ సేవకుడినైన నాకు ఇచ్చి పంపిన ఆజ్ఞను నేను తప్పక పాటిస్తాను గాని, ఇప్పుడు చెప్పిన దాన్ని మాత్రం చేయలేను’” అన్నాడు. ఆ వార్తాహరులు బెన్హదదు దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి ఆ జవాబు తెలియచేశారు.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.
