அப்பொழுது இவன் அவனை நோக்கி: கொலைசெய்வதற்கு நான் நியமித்த மனிதனை உன்னுடைய கையிலிருந்து தப்பிப்போகும்படி நீ விட்டதால், உன்னுடைய உயிர் அவனுடைய உயிருக்கு ஈடாகவும், உன்னுடைய மக்கள் அவனுடைய மக்களுக்கு இணையாகவும் இருக்கும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
