அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: இதோ, இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்து ராஜாக்கள் தயவுள்ள ராஜாக்கள் என்று கேட்டிருக்கிறோம்; நாங்கள் சணலாடைகளை எங்களுடைய இடுப்புகளில் கட்டி, கயிறுகளை எங்களுடைய தலைகளில் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடம் போவோம்; ஒருவேளை உம்மை உயிரோடு வைப்பார் என்று சொல்லி,

¶ And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
