બીજા સૈનિકો અફેકના નગરમાં નાસી ગયા પરંતુ તેઓ દાખલ થયા તે સાથે જ નગરનો કોટ નાસી ગયેલા સત્તાવીસ હજાર સૈનિકો પર તૂટી પડ્યો. બેન-હદાદે નાસી જઈને નગરના અંદરના ભાગમાં આશ્રય લીધો.
