അപ്പോൾ ഏലീയാവു അടുത്തുചെന്നു സർവ്വജനത്തോടും: നിങ്ങൾ എത്രത്തോളം രണ്ടു തോണിയിൽ കാൽവെക്കും? യഹോവ ദൈവം എങ്കിൽ അവനെ അനുഗമിപ്പിൻ; ബാൽ എങ്കിലോ അവനെ അനുഗമിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ ജനം അവനോടു ഉത്തരം ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
