TUHAN menyampaikan pesan hukuman atas Baesa dan keluarganya melalui Nabi Yehu. Baesa harus dihukum atas dua dosa besar. Pertama, karena dia melakukan yang jahat di mata TUHAN, yaitu mengikuti dosa Yerobeam sehingga membangkitkan murka TUHAN. Kedua, karena Baesa membantai keluarga Yerobeam.
