తాను రాజు కాగానే అతడు యరొబాము వంశం వారందరినీ చంపేశాడు. యరొబాము వంశంలో ప్రాణంతో ఉన్న ఎవర్నీ వదిలి పెట్టకుండా అందరినీ చంపేశాడు. తన సేవకుడు షిలోనీయుడైన అహీయా ద్వారా యెహోవా చెప్పినట్టు ఇది జరిగింది.
