જેવો તે રાજા બન્યો કે તરત જ તેણે યરોબામના કુટુંબનાં સર્વને મારી નાખ્યાં. તેણે યરોબામના કુટુંબનાં કોઈનેય જીવતાં છોડ્યા નહિ; આ રીતે યહોવાહ જે વાત તેના સેવક શીલોના અહિયા દ્વારા બોલ્યા હતા તે રીતે તેણે તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો.
