నీవు ఇతర దేవుళ్ళను అనుసరించకూడదని అతనికి ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు. అయినా సొలొమోను హృదయం ఆయన నుండి తొలగిపోయింది. యెహోవా అతడికి ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞను అతడు పాటించనందుకు ఆయన అతనిపై కోపగించి ఇలా చెప్పాడు.

And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
