എങ്ങനെയെന്നാൽ ശലോമോൻ വയോധികനായപ്പോൾ ഭാര്യമാർ അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അന്യദേവന്മാരിലേക്കു വശീകരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
