એ સમયે જ્યારે દાઉદે સોબાહ પર હુમલો કર્યો ત્યારે રઝોને પોતાની સાથે કેટલાક માણસોને ભેગા કર્યા અને પોતે તેનો સરદાર બની ગયો. ત્યાંથી તેઓએ દમસ્કસ જઈને વસવાટ કર્યો અને રઝોને દમસ્કસમાં રાજ કર્યું.

And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.
