యోహాను రాసిన మొదటి పత్రిక 5:16

తన సోదరుడు, మరణం కలిగించని పాపం చెయ్యడం ఎవరైనా చూస్తే, చూసినవాడు ఆ సోదరుని కోసం ప్రార్థించాలి. అతణ్ణి బట్టి మరణం కలిగించని పాపం చేసిన వాడికి దేవుడు జీవం ఇస్తాడు. మరణం కలిగించే పాపం ఉంది. దాని విషయంలో అతడు ప్రార్థించాలని నేను చెప్పను.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
