அப்படியிருந்தும், நான் இவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் அனுபவிக்கவில்லை; இப்படி எனக்கு நடக்கவேண்டுமென்று இவைகளை நான் எழுதுகிறதுமில்லை. என் மேன்மைபாராட்டுதலை ஒருவன் மனவேதனையாக்குகிறதைவிட நான் சாகிறது எனக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும்.

But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
