શાઉલના દિવસોમાં યોએલના દીકરાઓએ હાગ્રીઓ પર હુમલો કર્યો અને તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો. તેઓ ગિલ્યાદની પૂર્વ બાજુના સઘળા પ્રદેશમાં પોતાના તંબુઓમાં વસ્યા.
