1. ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 28:9

നീയോ എന്റെ മകനേ, ശാലോമോനേ, നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ അറികയും അവനെ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും നല്ലമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്ക; യഹോവ സർവ്വഹൃദയങ്ങളെയും പരിശോധിക്കയും വിചാരങ്ങളും നിരൂപണങ്ങളും എല്ലാം ഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നീ അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തും; ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവൻ നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളയും.

¶ And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
