ดาวิดและบรรดาหัวหน้าของผู้ปรนนิบัติได้จัดแยกบางคนไว้สำหรับการปรนนิบัติ คือจากลูกหลานของอาสาฟ และของเฮมาน และของเยดูธูน ผู้ซึ่งจะพยากรณ์ด้วยพิณเขาคู่ ด้วยพิณใหญ่และด้วยฉาบ รายชื่อของผู้ทำงานตามหน้าที่ของเขา คือ
