Då sa David till Joav och till folkets befälhavare: ”Gå och räkna Israel från Beer-Sheva [i syd] till Dan [i norr], och ge mig besked så att jag får veta hur många de är.”

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.
