Çöldeki kalede David'e katılan bazı Gadlılar, savaşa hazır, kalkan ve mızrak kullanabilen cesur yiğitlerdi, yüzleri aslan yüzleri gibiydi ve dağlardaki ceylanlar kadar hızlıydılar:
