Då gick David ut emot dem och sa till dem: ”Om ni kommer till mig med fredliga avsikter och vill hjälpa mig, så är jag beredd att förena mig med er. Men kommer ni för att förråda mig till mina fiender fastän mina händer är fria från våld, då ska våra fäders Gud se det och straffa det.”
