Från Manasse gick några över till David, när han drog ut med filisteerna i kriget mot Saul. Men David och hans män fick inte hjälpa filisteerna, för filisteernas furstar hade rådslag och skickade sedan bort honom och sade: ”Det kostar oss våra huvuden om han går över till sin herre Saul!”

And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
