Alcuni ancora di Manasse andarono ad arrendersi a Davide, quando egli venne co' Filistei, per combattere contro a Saulle. Ma Davide non diede loro alcun soccorso; perciocchè i principi dei Filistei, per comun consiglio, lo rimandarono, dicendo: Egli si rivolterà a Saulle, suo signore, al rischio delle nostre teste.

And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
