ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ദാവീദ് ഹെബ്രോനിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അവരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു; ശമൂവേൽമുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവർ ദാവീദിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.
