เมื่อบรรดาคนอิสราเอลผู้อยู่ในหุบเขาเห็นว่ากองทัพหนีไป และซาอูลกับโอรสของพระองค์ก็สิ้นพระชนม์แล้ว เขาก็ทิ้งบ้านเมืองของเขาและหลบหนีไป คนฟีลิสเตียก็เข้ามาอาศัยอยู่ในนั้น
