Toen de Israëlieten uit de vlakte bemerkten, dat de Israëlieten gevlucht waren, en Saul met zijn zonen gesneuveld, verlieten ze allen de steden en namen de vlucht; waarop de Filistijnen kwamen en ze bezetten.
